Because of the axial force, the rotor group of centrifugal compressor will have an axial position deviation, which will affect the stable operation of the compressor, and even the safety of the whole unit. Therefore, accurate analysis and effective reduction of the influence of axial force are the key issues of compressor structure design. Taking a centrifugal refrigeration compressor with horizontally opposed structure and balance ring as an example, analyses the effect of axial force on the rotor group under different conditions theoretically, and compares the theoretical calculation and experimental results. The final test results show that the theoretical calculation results are in good agreement with the test data, which proves the validity of the theoretical analysis method. Axial force of the horizontally opposed centrifugal compressor can balance itself well, so that the total axial force of the rotor group is smaller without adding the axial parts such as the thrust balancing device.
